Privacy Policy for Companion RafiQ

Effective date: October 12, 2026 · Applies to RafiQ on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android

Summary

RafiQ keeps what you enter on your device. We have no accounts, no servers that store your data, no advertising and no analytics or tracking. A few features ask online services for public information, as described below.

Data stored on your device

Your settings, prayer and fasting records, Quran progress and bookmarks, Azkar counts, meals, water, medicines, exercise plans, sleep schedule and Zakat records are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. We cannot see or recover them.

Location

With your permission, RafiQ uses your location on your device to calculate prayer times, the Qibla direction and the Hijri calendar for your area. You can instead choose a city by hand and not grant location access.

To show the weather and the nearest mosques, the app sends an approximate position (rounded to about 1 km) to:

These requests carry no name, account or device identifier. The services receive your IP address as part of any internet request; their own privacy policies apply.

Health data (Apple Health and Android Health Connect)

If you allow it, RafiQ reads from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android): steps, active energy, exercise sessions, weight, height and sleep, and on iPhone your age and sex. It uses them only on your device to show your daily activity, set water and nutrition targets, and time reminders around your sleep. Nights you confirm can be saved back as sleep.

Health data is never sent off your device, never shared with anyone, and never used for advertising or any purpose other than these features. You can withdraw access at any time in the Health app or in Health Connect.

Quran recitations and lessons

The audio catalog is read from Apple's CloudKit public database, and recordings stream from their hosts (such as mp3quran.net and the Internet Archive). These requests ask only for public audio and lists; they include no personal data beyond your IP address.

Notifications and alarms

Prayer, Azkar, meal, water, medicine and fasting reminders are scheduled on your device. Nothing about them is sent to us.

Children

RafiQ can be used by children with a parent's guidance. It has no accounts, chat, ads or purchases, and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Location and health access are optional and stay under the control of the device's permission settings.

Third-party services

RafiQ does not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services, and does not sell or share personal data.

Security

All network requests use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Data on your device is protected by your device's own security.
